Portuguese Society of Constructivist Psychotherapies

Presentation
The Portuguese Constructivist Psychotherapies Society is a non-profit organization devoted to encouraging and communicating developments in theory, research, and practices in constructivism. Founded at the end of 2005, the construction of a network of practicing clinicians interested in constructivist approaches to psychology, is also among our main objectives.

Training
In response to growing demands for formal training and certification in counseling and psychotherapy, we offer a constructive approach program. An e-learning platform is also available. The goal is to provide a structured series of courses that are easily accessible via internet, regular mail, complementing the classroom seminars and supervision, resulting in a blended learning.

Counseling Center
We also provide a Clinical Practicum and supervised practica. Attention is given to developing and maintaining high quality relationships with clients, development of conceptual skills for understanding and guiding effective intervention, and development of the counselor/therapist as an individual who integrates the affective and cognitive aspects of human experience.

Supervision
Close supervisory/mentoring relationships are a key part of the learning process and delivery of effective services to clients throughout this practicum. Individual supervision is provided by a certified senior staff member of the Counseling Center during the year. Group meetings involve an additional three hours each week and include a variety of activities, usually case focused.

Psychotherapists
We aim to build a professional community. A referral directory will be constructed and made available for persons interested in constructive counseling services.
